Books, books and more books

Did you know?

The Library of Congress in Washington DC, is the largest library in the world, with more than 130 million items on approximately 530 miles of bookshelves. The collections include more than 29 million books and other printed materials, 2.7 million recordings, 12 million photographs, 4.8 million maps, and 58 million manuscripts.

It's not easy finding out just how many books are published throughout the world each year. The trusty Google search lists sources that quote figures from 50,000 to 100,000 new titles each year.

Whether you choose the lower or upper end of this range - it's still a lot of books!

You won't find all of them on our Big Book Club website but you will find a smorgasbord of genres, styles, themes, fiction, non fiction, Australian and international books.

Enjoy choosing a book from the monthly Big Book Club selections or browse through the recommended reads.

If you're looking for a book for a very young reader, check out The Little Big Book Club site.
