How it works...

Each month our Big Book Club selection committee chooses one book. It's not an easy job. There are a lot of terrific books around.

The committee is a diverse group including english and creative writing lecturers, librarians, students, marketers, stay at home mums, a speech pathologist, accountants, a journalist, a bookseller, a publisher and an award winning author. They all have one thing in common - a love of books and reading.

There isn't a strict criteria for choosing the book. It's more about treating each nominated book on its own merits. Importantly, the committee strives for balance between the many different genres, styles and themes available.

As a reader, you can choose to read each month's selection or simply find the one that attracts you the most. You may already belong to a reading group or you might like to start your own book club.

How much or how little you become involved is totally up to you. Just relax and enjoy a good read. Here are all of our previously selected books.
