Author Biographies
Sallis, Eva
The Author...

Eva Sallis was born in Bendigo in 1964. She is a writer of literary fiction and non-fiction. She grew up in Victoria , Germany and South Australia .
She has an MA on the poetry of T.S. Eliot and the Philosophy of F. H. Bradley; and a PhD, in which she explored the many versions of the Arabian Nights. She worked as an academic for a number of years, but resigned her post in 2002 to write full time. She is still a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide .
Eva won The Australian/Vogel Literary Award in 1997 for her first novel, Hiam. Eva's second novel, The City of Sealions, was published in 2002, followed by the winner of the Steele Rudd Award, Mahjar in 2003 and Fire Fire in 2004.
